Epilogue – based upon the script by Donn Mullally & Lee Erwin

(JESS is riding down the road. SLIM comes galloping up behind him.)

SLIM: You’re heading in the wrong direction, aren’t ya? Home is back that way.

JESS: I’m moving on, Slim. Everything I touch turns to trouble.

SLIM: The sheriff didn’t seem to think so. Otherwise he wouldn’ta cleared ya.

JESS: Wasn’t much else he could do.

SLIM: What happened here Jess, could have happened anywhere. Don’t blame yourself.

JESS: You mean you want me to stay after what I did to you.

SLIM: I’ve been decked before. Worse things can happen.

JESS: Yeah, I guess they can. I thought you’d be mad at me.

SLIM: Never mind what ya thought. I got a lot of work to do. So do you.

( SLIM turns his horse and gallops back towards home. JESS hesitates a moment and then follows.)
