Epilogue – based on the script “Day of Vengeance” by Edward  J. Lasko

(ERNIE POLK drives a buckboard into the Sherman ranch yard.)

ERNIE POLK: Hi, boys.

JESS HARPER: Well hi, Ernie.

SLIM SHERMAN: Hi, Ernie.

ERNIE POLK: I didn’t want to leave the territory without saying goodbye and thanks.

JESS HARPER: Where ya headed?

ERNIE POLK: I don’t know where I’ll stop. Wherever I can do something useful, I guess. I’ve lost the right to the title of “Reverend.” I know that. But I was wrong when I said I had lost the right to serve God. Nobody can ever do that. I can still serve Him and I will, wherever I can.

JESS HARPER: Well best of luck, Ernie.

ERNIE POLK: Thanks.

SLIM SHERMAN: From me, too.

ERNIE POLK: Take care of yourselves, boys. So long.

(ERNIE POLK drives off. SLIM SHERMAN and JESS HARPER wave goodbye.)
