Epilogue – based on the teleplay “Ladies’ Day” by Rod Peterson & story by Dan Ullman

(MIKE WILLIAMS, JESS HARPER, SLIM SHERMAN, JUDGE HENRY, SAM WILLET and MORT CORY are at the corral. JUDGE HENRY, SAM WILLET and MORT CORY are on horseback.)

SLIM SHERMAN: Thank you, Judge. (Shakes JUDGE HENRY’s hand)

JUDGE HENRY: You’re welcome, Sherman. (Looks at JESS HARPER) Goodbye.

SLIM SHERMAN: So long, Mort. ‘

JESS HARPER: See ya, Mort.

(JUDGE HENRY, SAM WILLET and MORT CORY ride off towards Laramie.)

MIKE WILLIAMS: Is everything really gonna to be alright, Slim?

SLIM SHERMAN: That’s what Judge Henry says, Mike. You’re going to live here until we make sure you haven’t any close kin. Then we’ll see about that adoption.

JESS HARPER: Now we can really work the pants off ya’.

(The ringing of a triangle dinner bell is heard. MIKE WILLIAMS, SLIM SHERMAN and JESS HARPER cross the ranch yard to the ranch house.)

DAISY COOPER: Time to wash up.

MIKE WILLIAMS: What are we havin’?

DAISY COOPER: Oh, something good.

MIKE WILLIAMS : Are you gonna cook for us from now on. Miss Daisy?

DAISY COOPER: Well that’s something you’d have to ask Slim and Jess about, Mike.

MIKE WILLIAMS: Is she, Slim? Is she gonna stay?

SLIM SHERMAN: You’ve done so much for us already, ah, we don’t know how to thank you.

JESS HARPER: Would you consider stayin’ on, ma’am? I mean in a rundown place like this?

DAISY COOPER: Oh, it’s not so run down.

SLIM SHERMAN: We’d sure love to have you stay, Miss Daisy. We really would.

MIKE WILLIAMS: Will ya? Please?

DAISY COOPER: Well, after all those things I told the judge, maybe I’d better stay.

MIKE WILLIAMS: Yipee!

DAISY COOPER: (Pointing to the wash basin) Wash your hands. (Laughs and walks into the house)

MIKE WILLIAMS: (Pours water in the basin and picks up the soap, then looks at SLIM SHERMAN and JESS HARPER.) Aren’t you gonna wash your hands?

(SLIM SHERMAN and JESS HARPER look at each other. SLIM SHERMAN looks at his hands and they both move to the bench of wash basins.)
