Epilogue – based on the teleplay by Calvin Clements and story by John C. Champion
(SLIM is tossing luggage up to the STAGECOACH SHOTGUN. The STAGECOACH DRIVER is adjusting the harness on the team. JESS and JULIE come out of the ranch house door.)
JESS: Julie, sure you won’t stay in Laramie for a while?
JULIE: No Jess. I know what would happen if I did.
JESS: So do I. That’s why I’m askin’.
JULIE: We’re so much alike, Jess. N’ there are so many memories that would stand in our way. But, maybe someday.
JESS: Maybe someday.
(JULIE walks to the stagecoach.)
SLIM: Good luck, Julie, wherever you go.
JULIE: Thanks. (Enters the stagecoach)
JESS: Bye. (Shuts stagecoach door)
SLIM: All right, Johnson.
JESS: You know I never could figure that woman out.
SLIM: Course you can figure most women out, can’t you.
JESS: Sure I can.
SLIM: (Derisively) Sure you can. (Walks towards the ranch house and then turns and laughs.)
(JESS chases SLIM into the ranch house.)
