Epilogue – based on the teleplay by Ron Bishop & Rod Peterson and story by John C. Champion
(NANCY TILFORD, MIKE and DAISY are loading HOBEY CARSON’S buckboard.)
NANCY TILFORD: Well, I sure do appreciate you lettin’ us stay on here while Hobey’s shoulder healed some.
DAISY: Aw, I loved having you. And thank you so much for teaching me how to make that mountainberry jam.
NANCY TILFORD: Well, you’re welcome. Well, I guess that’s about everything. Now, where’d that Hobey go to?
MIKE: Well, he’s inside playin’ cards with Slim and Jess.
NANCY TILFORD: Playin’ cards? (Goes back into the kitchen door of the ranch house. SLIM, JESS and HOBEY CARSON are playing cards at the kitchen table. NANCY TILFORD takes HOBEY CARSON by the ear, dragging him out the door)
HOBEY CARSON: Ow! Nance! Ow! Nance! Stop that! Come on, we weren’t playin’ for keeps. Honest.
JESS: (Laughs): An they ain’t even married yet.
SLIM: I know. Hey, that’s too bad. He had a good hand, too.
