Epilogue – based on the script by Rod Peterson
(SLIM and JESS come out of the Laramie Stage Depot. SLIM has an envelope of money in his hands.)
SLIM: This reward money is goin’ to come in mighty handy.
JESS: You coulda had that thirty thousand with the girl.
SLIM: Sure and spent it together in prison.
(Two women walk by.)
SLIM: Oh… no… no. This is going for the ranch. Hey, what needs fixin’ the most?
JESS: Did you ever notice how skirts kinda rustle like when they walk.
SLIM: Yeah, It’s kinda like the rustle of money. It’s kinda expensive to listen, though.
JESS: So what if it does. We’re practically rich, ain’t we?
SLIM: Yeah, you’re right. I never could stay rich very long.
(JESS and SLIM walk down the boardwalk, chasing the rustle of skirts.)
