Epilogue – based on the script “Bad Blood” by Fred Freiberger & Herman Miller
(DAISY COOPER comes out of the Sherman ranch house kitchen door and rings the triangle dinner bell. At the lake, SLIM SHERMAN is swimming. JESS HARPER and MIKE WILLIAMS are getting dressed.)
JESS HARPER: Hey, Slim! Dinner’s ready. We’d better make tracks. Com’ on.
SLIM SHERMAN: What’s your hurry? I’m just now getting cooled off.
JESS HARPER: Yeah well, Daisy wouldn’t mind if we were late due to working. She’ll think a lot different if it’s taking a swim.
MIKE WILLIAMS : Sure wish that Skip coulda stayed with us longer. He learned to swim in that school in Saint Louis.
JESS HARPER: Yeah, I know he did, Tiger. But he’s off in Denver goin’ to school now. The bounty money from McCall’s takin’ care of his education. His aunt’s seeing to that.
MIKE WILLIAMS: Guess his pa took care of him after all.
JESS HARPER: Yeah, I guess he did. Come on, Slim! We gotta go!
(SLIM SHERMAN splashes JESS HARPER and MIKE WILLIAMS with water.)
JESS HARPER: Ah, cut it out. (Throws a rock at SLIM SHERMAN)
