Ingredients

½ pound roast beef, thinly sliced, any fatty areas removed

2 slices sourdough, pumpernickel,  rye bread, or 6” French bread

1 thin slice of sweet onion, separated into rings, optional

Condiment(s)

   

Condiment suggestions:

Butter

Roasted garlic aioli

Blue cheese and sour cream

Whole grain Dijon mustard

Dill weed and sour cream

Horseradish sauce

Salt and coarsely ground pepper

 

 

Steps

  1. Coat one side of each piece of bread with chosen condiment.
  2. Place beef slices on top of chosen spread on one piece of bread.
  3. Arrange rings of onion, if desired, on top of beef slices.
  4. Place second slice of bread, condiment side down, on top of beef or onions.
  5. Cut as desired.
  6. Wrap in parchment paper or plate.
