Ingredients
½ pound roast beef, thinly sliced, any fatty areas removed
2 slices sourdough, pumpernickel, rye bread, or 6” French bread
1 thin slice of sweet onion, separated into rings, optional
Condiment(s)
Condiment suggestions:
Butter
Roasted garlic aioli
Blue cheese and sour cream
Whole grain Dijon mustard
Dill weed and sour cream
Horseradish sauce
Salt and coarsely ground pepper
Steps
- Coat one side of each piece of bread with chosen condiment.
- Place beef slices on top of chosen spread on one piece of bread.
- Arrange rings of onion, if desired, on top of beef slices.
- Place second slice of bread, condiment side down, on top of beef or onions.
- Cut as desired.
- Wrap in parchment paper or plate.
