Yield: Approximately 1 cup broth
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups cold water
1 cup jerky pieces
Steps:
- Place jerky in cold water in a saucepan.
- Bring water to a boil. Boil for 5 minutes
- Remove saucepan from heat source.
- Cover saucepan and allow to stand for 30 minutes.
- Strain broth into a cup.
- Reserve jerky or discard.
- If desired, warm broth and serve.
- Reserved jerky can be eaten or added to a dish (example: creamed beef on toast). Rehydrated jerky should be added to another dish immediately and eaten. Do not place in icebox for future consumption.
