Epilogue – based on the teleplay by Calvin Clements and story by John C. Champion
(SLIM SHERMAN is tossing luggage up to the STAGECOACH SHOTGUN. The STAGECOACH DRIVER is adjusting the harness on the team. JESS HARPER and JULIE come out of the ranch house door.)
JESS HARPER: Julie, sure you won’t stay in Laramie for a while?
JULIE: No Jess. I know what would happen if I did.
JESS HARPER So do I. That’s why I’m askin’.
JULIE: We’re so much alike, Jess. N’ there are so many memories that would stand in our way. But, maybe someday.
JESS HARPER: Maybe someday.
(JULIE walks to the stagecoach.)
SLIM SHERMAN: Good luck, Julie, wherever you go.
JULIE: Thanks. (Enters the stagecoach)
JESS HARPER: Bye. (Shuts stagecoach door)
SLIM SHERMAN: All right, Johnson.
(Stagecoach leaves.)
JESS HARPER: You know I never could figure that woman out.
SLIM SHERMAN: Course you can figure most women out, can’t you.
JESS HARPER: Sure I can.
SLIM SHERMAN: (Derisively) Sure you can. (Walks towards the ranch house and then turns and laughs.)
(JESS HARPER chases SLIM SHERMAN into the ranch house.)
