Epilogue – based on “The Unvanquished,” a teleplay by Paul Savage and story by Dan Ullman
(WINEMA and TAH-ZA are mounted as SLIM and DIAMO walk towards them. MIKE WILLIAMS and DAISY COOPER watch from the Sherman ranch house porch.)
SLIM SHERMAN: Daisy’s gonna miss that young’n of yours. It isn’t often she gets a baby to fuss over.
DIAMO: You must bring her to the reservation when you can. A godmother should visit her godson often.
SLIM SHERMAN: And you come back here. You’ll always be welcome
DIAMO: I hope my son grows to be the kind of man you are.
SLIM SHERMAN: Now, you mean the kind of man his father is. Never underestimate yourself again. People around here owe you and Tah-za a lot. You taught them that a man’s a man. The color of his skin doesn’t put a label on him.
DIAMO: If they learned that, I’m glad, because I learned it too. (Offers his hand to SLIM)
(WINEMA, THA-ZA and DIAMO ride off. DIAMO and WINEMA wave goodbye. SLIM SHERMAN, DAISY COOPER and MIKE WILLIAMS return the wave.)
