Epilogue – based on the script “Trigger Point” by Art Browne, Jr.
(JESS HARPER is loading the cash box onto the stagecoach in Rawlins.)
GRACE: Lottie’s late. What time are we leaving?
JESS HARPER: Couple of minutes.
GRACE: Is Green River like this?
JESS HARPER: Oh, some. Smaller maybe.
GRACE: I think I’m going to like it.
JESS HARPER: I’m sure you will.
(LOTTIE comes out of the Rawlins’ stage depot door.)
LOTTIE: Well, are you ready?
GRACE: I didn’t see you inside. Where were you?
LOTTIE: I was in the office getting my ticket changed.
GRACE: Aren’t you going to stay in Green River?
LOTTIE: Just to change coaches.
GRACE: Well, where are you going?
LOTTIE: Well, I-I was thinkin’ that… Well, when we passed through Laramie, why it seemed like such a nice town that well, I guess I’ll try my luck there.
(JESS HARPER looks up at LOTTIE.)
GRACE: Oh?… Oh!
JESS-HARPER: It’s been a lucky place for me, Lottie. I hope it will be the same for you.
(LOTTIE smiles at Jess. JESS HARPER smiles back at LOTTIE. JESS HARPER takes GRACE’s arm.)
JESS HARPER: Let’s go, huh? (Helps GRACE and LOTTIE into the stage, then climbs into the shotgun seat.) Let’s roll, Johnson.
