Epilogue – based on the script “Widow in White” by Rod Peterson
(SLIM SHERMAN and JESS HARPER come out of the Laramie Stage Depot. SLIM SHERMAN has an envelope of money in his hands.)
SLIM SHERMAN: This reward money is goin’ to come in mighty handy.
JESS HARPER: You coulda had that thirty thousand with the girl.
SLIM SHERMAN: Sure and spent it together in prison.
(Two women walk by.)
SLIM SHERMAN Oh… no… no. This is going for the ranch. Hey, what needs fixin’ the most?
JESS HARPER: Did you ever notice how skirts kinda rustle like when they walk.
SLIM SHERMAN: Yeah, It’s kinda like the rustle of money. It’s kinda expensive to listen, though.
JESS HARPER: So what if it does. We’re practically rich, ain’t we?
SLIM SHERMAN: Yeah, you’re right. I never could stay rich very long.
(JESS HARPER and SLIM SHERMAN walk down the boardwalk, chasing the rustle of skirts.)
